And it's like, on that level I *can* see the Dean/Cas, and I can even see the sexual aspect of it, but while a lot of Dean/Cas fans are howling over Dean calling Cas a brother, I really liked that, because to DEAN that's the big fish. Family, family, family, and that's their bond, that's the loyalty - and while it hasn't come up so much lately, back in S4 and 5 Cas was obviously so huge on family too, he wasn't rebelling against some detached power but was killing his brothers.

And Crowley brought back Samuel! When they're talking by his picture in the file halls of Hell, and Cas says ix-nay to the employment of Dean in finding purgatory, Crowley says something like "fine, I know a bald-headed patriarch I can take off the sidelines".
