[personal profile] animus_wyrmis  and I were chatting yesterday about what if Castiel went to see Susan when he was looking for God, and this is what came out of that.  A lot of it, including some specific lines, comes straight from her. <333

Where in the Worlds is Carmen Sandiego God? [I'm really bad at titles, okay?  The fic is not as lol-tastic as this might lead you to believe]
Supernatural/Narnia
850 words

(this post to be read with the same southern accent that has been coloring my mental voice for the last couple of days. not to mention my out-loud voice.  I have not been to Texas in almost 11 years; I should not fall into the accent so easily.)

So, the other day/night I watched the entirety of season 2 of True Blood.  Y'all. I will NOT fandom True Blood.  It is the crackiest crack ever, and way too gory sometimes, and I'm only watching it for the beautiful people, right? Except...I want the fic where Godric, after giving himself up to the sun, meets Cas (this being the recently self-banished via chest sigil Cas, methinks) and they float as particles of awesome through the aether, discussing such matters as trying to appreciate humans, and how humans can be so surprising, and how they sometimes are so disappointed with their own kind, and the difficulties of straddling the line between mortality and sort-of-immortality, and what they don't talk about is their self-sacrifice, because they are too bad-ass to whine about that, and crap, I'm gonna have to write this.

And I also want MaryAnne  in Narnia, stumbling upon their wild party with Bacchus, and she goes screeching up to him yelling about how she's his wife and yaaay, now they can get married, and then Lucy/Edmund/Susan/Peter/Narnia gets up and punches her out to the tune of 'bitch, step away from our wine god,' and then she's all hurt because 'i just wanna join y'all's orgy!' but they're all 'nope, sorry, our orgies are way more awesome than yours, and also we don't do the whole eating-human-hearts sacrifice thing,' and then Lucy says 'well, there was that one time...' and then they all shush her and drive MaryAnne out and that's when she heads off to find Sam in Bon Temps, and...someone stop me now, please.  Why does EVERYTHING connect to Narnia??

I am NOT writing True Blood fic. Seriously. Not happening.

Please to not make fun of my poor name hybridization.  Thanks much, me.

"Arthur," Uther said as the ashes of the latest sorcerer fled Camelot upon the wind, "New precautions must be taken to insure our kingdom's safety from this pestilence of magic.  I want you and your knights to make the rounds of the entire land, searching every home, every monastery, every back-country cottage, and find any book that contains knowledge which might aid a sorcerer - alchemy, necromancy, science, fairy tales - find any dangerous writings, bring them here, and I want them all to be burnt."

"Father."  Arthur shifted uncomfortably and glanced at Merlin and Gaius, standing nearby and bearing identical looks of utter horror.  "Surely it is not the knowledge which is dangerous, but only the way in which the magicians use it."

"Are you questioning my command?  Your king has made a decree for the protection of the people you are sworn to protect, Arthur.  Do as you are told."  With that, Uther turned his back dramatically and swept into the palace, blind to all but his rage until he bumped quite suddenly into the man who stepped out in front of him.

"Uther Pendragon," said the man, who wore the strangest suit of clothes Uther had ever seen, and bore no distinctive colors or device.  Apart from the clothing, however, the stranger looked disturbingly...exactly like Uther himself, a decade or two ago.

"Who are you, and what witchery is this?" the king demanded, stumbling backwards and scrabbling for his sword.

"My name is Giles, and I am here to put an end to this abhominable book-burning you have ordered."

And also Dr. Who!

Skype is a wondrous thing - lady_songsmith and I were talking about the parallels between Donna (*sob*) and Narnia, and Rose (*sobsobsob*) and Narnia; in particular, how those two would get along SO well with Susan.

So:
Susan knows what it is to love someone (a whole country of them) and to be walled away from them, worlds away, across time and space.  Memory itself becomes a punishment, wishing for one more day but knowing it would be nothing, would only add to the pain.  Rose looks strong to everyone else, but Susan knows how she is stumbling blindly through each day, lost in her own world.

And then song said:
Rose understands what it is to shut yourself away from someone you love.  To see them day after day, struggling to continue, to go on as they should, but always and ever *less than*.   And it hurts, it opens the wounds fresh each time, like picking at a scab that can never heal.   Susan's family blames her for the rift, but Rose understands that it was self-defense.

And now we ask - help us continue to commit xover love!  Add Donna in! Angsty angst angst!

For [livejournal.com profile] caramelsilver 's massive fic-a-thon.  I thought I wasn't going to do any of these, but then I saw the following prompts and I just had to.

Narnia/His Dark Materials - Edmund/Lyra - all the worlds there ever were
"There's an easier way," he says when he finds her sitting on the bench, stroking Pan for comfort, the taste of strawberries on her lips.  He slips a glowing ring onto her finger and she is whirled away roughly, falling instead of stepping.  The Wood between worlds is lovely and magical and full of possibilities, but she has become content with her own world and memories, and he is not Will.

Narnia, Susan, Is a queen a queen if she has no kingdom to rule?
Susan knows well that she will always be the Gentle Queen.  Carrying her crown inside her heart rather than on her head is no matter at all, and she always remembers.  Even when her siblings forsake her, misname her, leave her, she knows that she is Queen, and she carries on.

Firefly, Kaylee/Simon, ice cream
"Oooh, that's shiny," she whispers when he brings out the chilled container.  Simon could have spent his time planet-side making some money, not spending it, but he is discovering that her smile is priceless.
"It's not much," he stutters, and she just smiles again and offers him a spoonful of her joy.

Chronicles of Narnia, Edmund and Peter, drunk on scotch
"And what would Bacchus say," Lucy demands, tapping her little slipper-clad toes against the cold linoleum, "if he saw you miserable boys trying to drown your sorrows in anything but his personal wine?"
Edmund salutes her sloppily and pours half of his drink down Peter's nightshirt, and she turns, disgusted, to go back to her lonely bed.
"I do miss that wine," Edmund slurs into his cup, and Peter nods in fervent agreement before reaching for the half-empty bottle.
