Supernatural (i can't handle this)
Apr. 9th, 2010 01:23 pmI've been watching Supernatural (1.01, 1.04, 1.05, 1.06, and 1.09, so far) and, as is natural, I have Thoughts.
They mainly go something like holycrapican'thandlethisi'mgoingtodiethey'regoingtodiewe'reallgoingtodie, but somewhere in the midst of freaking out over eyeball-bleeding and hands being sucked down the sink disposal and things like that (and SERIOUSLY. I'm really worried that I'm going to have nightmares, even though I looked away during the bad parts), I had some more coherent thoughts.
Things like - hmm, yes, I see where the Dean/Sam fic comes from; and OMG Sam is Morgana!!! I rather like the sibling dynamic between the two boys, and I'm enjoying the fact that even amidst the freakiness there is still good acting and good writing. (SERIOUSLY, though, where do they come up with ideas like this?? Sexual predator/serial killer shape-shifters? Locking a little baby boy in a refrigerator - thank God he didn't die - and so much death death death?) And I REALLY like the base of supporting actors they're drawing from - Jeffrey Dean Morgan! I love him sooo much. And in Home, Missouri was played by the woman who is Adele in Grey's Anatomy, and she is a totally fantastic actress and brings so much life and depth to even a small role.
So tonight I'm probably going to dream of being sucked into a mirror through my eyeballs into a place where Ryan Seacrest (I feel SO bad for comparing Jensen Ackles to him, but I can't miss the resemblance now that I've identified it) has been taken over by a fiery shapeshifter and is trying to kill me. Fantastic.
