My greatest ambition in life is to have a room devoted to my personal library with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling rows of shelves, sliding ladders, and lots of well-loved and also plenty of untouched and pretentious books.
That is pretty much my life's ambition tooo!! I saw this picture once, in a home-decor magazine, of a bi-level apartment where the kitchen (and i dunno what else) was under the bedroom, and the living room walls were all filled with floor-to-2nd-story midlevel (about the height of the balcony railing?) shelves alternating with tall sunny windows, with lovely rolling wood ladders... and I was just like, "THAT. THAT IS MY DREAM HOME."
