Guys all you thingstielers, all you on the flist who love biome-porn and environstiel ... go watch this movie. You will not regret it.

Supposedly it's about how a bunch of gulag prisoners escaped and walked from Siberia through the Gobi Desert and across the Himalayas (spoiler: only about half of them make it).

BUT ACTUALLY IT'S ABOUT CASTIEL. AND HOW HE IS EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME, BEING A BLIZZARD AND THEN A DESERT AND A SNAKE AND MOUNTAINS AND A LAKE AND A RIVER AND A WELL IN THE DESERT. THERE ARE CAVES AND WOLVES AND MOSQUITOS AND I JUST.

I JUST. The people are amazing, first of all. Wonderful, wonderful cast, really good characters. The plot - amazing. It's fictional but it's so so super accurate in terms of WWII Soviet Russia and all that good stuff.

but the scenery guys the world. they use silence in this movie to the greatest effect i've ever seen my soul kept weeping with desire and sadness and fear and love.
