More Supernatural Conspiracy Theories
May. 12th, 2010 04:14 pmRewatching The End, I was struck by the fact that Zachariah brought Dean there, to a point in time where Dean tells himself to say yes to the angels. So my over-Supernatural-ed brain said 'hmm, maybe croatverse is all made up"! Zachariah (with maybe help from other angels? who knows) created it as a sort of complex illusion, all geared toward getting Dean to say yes to them. Because the angels want Dean to say yes, so I'm thinking why would they show him a future in which he didn't say yes, unless it was created in order to make him feel like that would be a bad decision? They know he won't listen to them, so they try to make him listen to himself.
However, it all backfires, because Dean is more bad-ass than that, so he conversely doesn't say yes, which sucks. And now the fake-future is becoming a possible real future (recent episodes' work with the Croatoan virus and obviously the fact that we're going to see Sam say yes now. I wonder if it'll be in Detroit?), because it's a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy thing. Dean saw this fake-future, and now he thinks that's what will happen if he doesn't say yes, and since he came back from it and didn't say yes, he thinks that they're moving toward the croatverse future, and since Dean is God, it's happening thus.
argh, i really need the finale right now.
